Ms. Lisa Harbour Carter
Lisa Harbour Carter is President and 100% owner of Wynnewood Technologies,
Inc. (WTI), a federal contracting firm providing its various customers
in the market place with professional Administrative Support, Travel Management
Services and Information Digital Signage Technology Services. She assumed
the reigns of business ownership from her father and founder of the firm,
Mr. Wendell Kenneth Harbour, who passed on December 17, 2002.
Ms. Harbour-Carter a graduate of Hampton University with a Bachelors
of Science degree in Marketing. Previous career consisted of 7
plus years managing Administrative, Labor and Medical temporary
and permanent placement agencies, 10 years with MCI specializing
in Information Technology training and sales. Plus, she directed
and managed her own creation, “Universal Promotions”,
an advertising and promotional business which concentrated on community
events and activities. Additionally, Harbour-Carter purchased and
operated a KINDERDANCE franchise which is an international educational
dance program for children. Harbour-Carter feels much of her previous
life has effectively prepared her for the challenges of running
WTI.
While continuing to raise her very young family and simultaneously
assuming ownership and fulltime, day to day management of the firm,
she has attained appreciable customer and market recognition for
WTI from the “The Washington Post”, “The Gazzette”,
and “The Prince Georges County Post” and nominated
for the Omega Psi Phi, Citizens award. NFBWBO honored Harbour-Carter
with 2004 Entrepreneur of year. WTI has been able to increase federal,
state and commercial sales by creating new lines of business while
building on existing talent, expertise and experience. WTI Recruiting
Services which directly supports other contractors in acquiring
federal contracts and sourcing for highly qualified individuals.
Additionally, WTI has contracted with the federal government to
provide Diversity work by expanding their relationship with Healing
the Heart of Diversity.
Clearly, Lisa Harbour Carter is carrying forth the dream of her
father, Wendell Kenneth Harbour, and her own ambition to be in
service to the community, customers; and passing on her knowledge
and expertise to the next generation of women aspiring to own and
manage their businesses in this highly competitive and challenging
business environment. Her strategy for success is to continue to
bridge strong relationships within local and federal governments,
as well as, other businesses to better serve the community at large.
WTI relocated its corporate headquarters in 2003 to Prince Georges
County, MD and a second location in Suffolk, VA in 2006. |
